Christopher Man-Son-Hing


Master Man-Son-Hing founded Man-Son-Hing Martial Arts Academy in 2000. He is of Chinese lineage. He has recently retired as a City of Tampa police officer with 21 years experience and obtained his degree from St. Leo’s College. Master Chris instructed at the Hillsborough Community College Law Enforcement Academy and the Tampa Police Academy. In 1999 Master Chris founded the first martial arts youth program while assigned to the Police Athletic League. The program has been in existence over a decade.

Master Chris has studied many forms of martial arts through out his life and holds the rank of black belt in several different marital arts styles. Master Man-Son-Hing was awarded his 6th Dan Black Belt by Grand Master J. Park ranking him as the 159th recipient

Master Chris was honorably discharged from the U. S. Navy after serving several tours in the Mediterranean and other parts of the world. He has studied many forms of martial arts through out his life and holds the rank of 5th Dan black belt in both Taekwondo and Hapkido.

Master Chris is an expert in self defense and has been featured in the Carrollwood News, Tampa Bay Cable Network and internationally on YouTube and The Dragon Boat Channel.

Janise Man-Son-Hing, Membership Director


Janise is the co-founder of Man-Son-Hing Martial Arts Academy. She obtained a B. A. Degree from the University of South Florida and is a certified Professional Law Enforcement Officer for over sixteen years. In honor of her parents, Janise founded The Jack W. Nichols Family Foundation which empowers youths with educational scholarships.  As a law enforcement officer and personal trainer to women it was a natural progression for Janise to be the Founder of the Right Defense for Women,  As the founder of  The Right Defense organization started in 2010, the Right Defense was kicked off with a full time self defense seminar schedule and a newly released self defense DVD for women. Her passion as an instructor is personal safety protection for women and youths. Her career background includes marketing, finance and law.

Mallory Man-Son-Hing, Assistant Instructor


Mallory holds the rank of 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo. Mallory graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Performance Communications.

Justin Man-Son-Hing, 3rd Dan Black Belt


Justin holds the rank of 3rd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo. He is a talented ground fighter and uses his talent to teach women's self defense programs. Justin is a full time college student while instructing at MSH Martial Arts Academy. He desires to follow his father's legacy and become a partner in the Man-Son-Hing Martial Arts Academy Corporation.

Sean Farr, 4th Dan Black Belt


Sean holds the rank of 4th Dan black belt in Taekwondo. He has been a student of Taekwondo since August of 2001. Sean sought to further his training and joined Man-Son-Hing Martial Arts Academy in October of 2006. In December of 2008 Sean joined the ranks of Instructor for Man-Son-Hing Martial Arts Academy.
